One of my favorite photographs by one of my favorite photographers - Trent Parke. The best.
L’Assassins—Minneapolis’ answer to Tokyo’s 5.6.7.8’s—are four ladies who play trashed-up, vintage-style rock & roll that’s all about cutting loose and having a good time. They’ve been playing shows around Minneapolis over the past year, putting any and all deadbeat indie…
Pretty excited for this Girls Got Rhythm fest. Still shocked it’s happening in my state.
I VISITED the Gwyn Hall for the Saturday afternoon performance of the Full Monty. Both the show and venue was excellent.
However, I was quite appalled by two separate incidents which occurred at the venue.
The show was mostly attended by old age pensioners and prior to the performance one elderly couple were in the wrong seats and promptly started to climb over to the row in front.
I spoke to one of the ushers stating that the council had spent millions of pounds on the development and if it had been teenagers there would have been a storm of protest.
I also noticed in front of me another elderly couple had brought with them a large box of milk chocolates.
When leaving after the show the contents including uneaten chocolates had been tipped on the floor.
The council has spent millions of pounds on this venue and these “mature” people have the wealth and experience of life, so should know better.
If this had been teenagers there would have been howls of protests.

Elderly woman charged in condiment-related crimes at library …
Condiment crime, the only crime I ever want to be guilty of.
Sneers, raised eyebrows, confrontational poses, nonchalance, Mom’s sunglasses, advanced color coordination, killer hats: these Canadian siblings know what they’re doing. One’s even got a tiny messenger bag! This reminds me of how I sometimes also want to run up and pinch adult cool kids on the cheek for their (however solemn) cuteness.

Beverage pride is another sign of early hipster-like behavior.

Doesn’t Noblet say this to Jellineck in the movie?
Yup! They repeat a lot of jokes in the film, I think.
Good. I was afraid I’d imagined it!
